Every announced GTA 6 release date, in order

Two delays, both announced by Rockstar in advance of the date they replaced. The current date has stood since November 2025.

Grand Theft Auto VI has had three announced release windows. Each change came from Rockstar directly, in a post on its own Newswire, before the date it replaced had passed.

The first window

Trailer 1 arrived on December 5, 2023. Rockstar's accompanying text gave the setting as the state of Leonida and Vice City, and the window as 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.

No day or month within 2025 was ever named.

First delay: May 2, 2025

Rockstar posted a short signed statement setting the release for May 26, 2026. It apologised for the date being later than expected and said the additional time was needed to deliver the quality players expect.

Trailer 2 followed four days later, on May 6, 2025, carrying the story description that has been used consistently since: Jason and Lucia caught in a criminal conspiracy stretching across Leonida.

Second delay: November 6, 2025

A second signed statement moved the release to Thursday, November 19, 2026. Rockstar apologised for adding to the wait and said the extra months would let it finish the game to the level of polish players expect, closing with a reference to "the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City."

That is the date that stands.

Since then

Rockstar and Take-Two have restated November 19 at each subsequent announcement rather than letting it go unmentioned: in Take-Two's pre-order press release of June 24, 2026, around the release of An Extended Look in August, and in the September 17 announcement of the soundtrack album.

As of 25 September 2026, no further change has been announced.

Reading a date claim

Both delays were announced on Rockstar's Newswire, in signed posts, before the previous date arrived. A date change reported anywhere other than Rockstar's Newswire or a Take-Two release has no source behind it.
