GTA 6 characters — who Rockstar has introduced
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos lead. Six more characters have profiles on Rockstar's site, and each is tied to a named region.
Rockstar's Only in Leonida page carries profiles for eight characters. Two are the protagonists named in every official description of the game; the other six are supporting characters, each presented alongside a named region of the state.
The two leads
Jason Duval. Rockstar's profile describes a background around grifters and criminals, a spell in the Army, and work for drug runners in the Keys. He is written as someone looking for an easier life and not finding one.
Lucia Caminos. Taught to fight by her father from an early age. Rockstar's profile places her in the Leonida Penitentiary after fighting for her family, released by luck rather than process, and intent on making better decisions.
Take-Two's own summary puts the pair in "a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida" after a robbery goes wrong.
Rockstar has not said how the two are played — whether you switch between them, whether they are always together, or whether one leads.
The supporting cast
Cal Hampton — a friend of Jason's, described as housebound and conspiracy-minded, listening in on Coast Guard radio.
Boobie Ike — a Vice City figure who has turned street money into real estate, a strip club and a recording studio.
Dre'Quan Priest — a former dealer turned music executive, running the label Only Raw Records with Boobie.
Real Dimez — a rap duo, Bae-Luxe and Roxy, friends since school, signed to Only Raw Records after an earlier hit with a local rapper credited as DWNPLY.
Raul Bautista — a career bank robber recruiting for jobs, described as increasingly reckless.
Brian Heder — an older smuggler running product through a boat yard with his third wife, Lori. Jason lives rent-free in one of his properties in exchange for work.
The connections are explicit in Rockstar's own copy: Jason and Cal both work for Brian, Boobie and Dre'Quan are partners in the label, and Real Dimez are signed to it.
Six named regions
Each supporting profile is paired with a region of Leonida. Rockstar names six:
- Vice City
- Leonida Keys
- Grassrivers
- Port Gellhorn
- Ambrosia
- Mount Kalaga
Port Gellhorn has its own page under the Only in Leonida section, which indicates the regions are treated as distinct areas rather than passing references.
What Rockstar has not published is how these regions relate to each other, how large any of them is, or how much of the state is drivable. Our map and setting page covers what is and is not known about the geography.
What has not been announced
No voice cast. No mission structure. No detail on how the two protagonists are controlled. No confirmation of which supporting characters are playable, if any.
Rockstar released An Extended Look on August 27, 2026, described as captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. It is on Rockstar's site and YouTube channel. We have not summarised its contents here.
